Ohio History

- The Ohio Canal
- The Columbus, Delaware, & Marion interurban line - I grew up, just a couple of hundred yards from the old right of way where this line ran through Marion County. In addition, the power generation plant for the line was located near the Scioto River at "Newmans" where Rt. 4 crosses the Scioto River. My grandfather was born and raised just a few hundred yards from there.
- The Lincoln Highway - the original Rt. 30 that ran coast to coast and ran through Mansfield and Marion (Rt 30S).
- The National Road - Old Rt. 40 that ran from Cumberland, MD to Vandalia, IL originally.
