Air
Guns (BB and Pellet Guns)
The first gun that I owned was a bb gun - a Daisy pistol. I used to shoot it in the garage at home on Sutherland Drive in Lexington, Kentucky, circa 1978.
When I bought my Daisy BB pistol, my dad then bought a BB pistol and we would shoot them when we visited. It didn't last long, but it was fun while it lasted.
I later purchased a couple of different air rifles. I don't recall when I got the first one. It is a Daisy Powerline Model 856. A pump gun - not rifled. They have probably made a zillion of those over the years.
The second was a
Marksman 1799,
"Brite Shot competition air rifle." I think I saw it on sale at Walmart and was impressed with the black plastic stock and fiber optic sights. Its a break barrel gun. It's not very powerful but it actually shoot pretty well.
I go in spurts shooting them. It is most fun when there is someone else to shoot with. My kids shot with me at different times. I can remember setting up pop cans in the front yard and shooting at them one summer. We did that for several days and I had a lot of fun.
In December 2011, I saw a good deal on a
Crosman Optimus
(break barrel .177 cal.) air rifle. I bought it and that renewed my interest in air rifles.
