22, 2007Rode my cycle to Vermillion today. I went up Rt. 60. In Wakeman, as I crossed the river on Rt. 60/20, I notice an old bridge next to the one I was on. It is much higher than the highway bridge and has two arches and made from cut stone. It is quite impressive.
I cam home and did some Internet research (where were we before the Internet?!) and found that the bridge was built by the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern railway in 1870/71. It will out last the highway bridge that its standing next to. See http://cprr.org/Museum/Ephemera/Drawhead.html
