W. Mosher My Great, Great Grandfather
David Mosher married Phebe Buck and lived in Morrow County. The 1857 map below shows his property in Morrow Co. More about him in the Mosher Family Chronology
From History of Morrow County Page 169: About three and a half miles southeast from Cardington, in Lincoln Township, occur several quarries on the horizon of the Berea grit, the exposures being caused by the upper forks of the Alum Creek. The section at Mosher's quarry is as follows, in descending order:
Feet No. 1: Hardpan drift .................8 to 10 No. 2: Flagging.........................4 to 5 No. 3: Heavy stond...................7 to 8 No. 4: Shale and thin stone (seen)...1 "Mr. Seiner's quarry shows a singular fault or variation in bedding. An oblique seam.....
Here is a close up of the property owned by Israel E. Buck just north of Fulton, OH in 1857. This property is owned by David W. Mosher in 1871, and has a quarrie on it.
Here's a similar view of an 1871 map, showing David W. Mosher (Israel E. Buck's brother in-law) owning the property.
Here's Google maps view of the property today.
