This document is a transcription of a hand written document found in the belongings of my grandma and grandpa Boyd. The author is unknown, as is the data of authorship. The facts that it chronicles are accurate for the most part in comparison to well documented information about the Boyd family. It does offer some additional information, not found in any other source.

1st Gen.
Joseph Boyd of Irish decent - born -------------- Married Elinor -------------------
of Scotch-Irish decent. - They had seven children (2nd Gen) namely- John who married Besty-Carnick
and they had five children - Besty Married David Allen. - Sallie who married Allec Scott - John C. and Benjamin and William - Joseph Boyd second wife was Sallie Duval
2nd Gen - Richard was married and lived in Green Co. Penna. He had a son named Hersey
2nd Gen. William was married and had thee sons namely - Washington - Middlton - and Singleton. They lived in Ky. but came to Ohio

2nd Rachel was born Apr. 10 1775 and married Joseph Ownes of welch decent. They eloped and Sallie Duval who afterwards became her stepmother, help get her clothes and sidesaddle out of thewindow. Their children were George Elenor, Benjaman, William and Matilda. She was married a second time to Hezakiah Harrington. Matilda was married to Sylvester P. Harrington son of Hezekiah
2nd Besty and Sallie were never married They were both engaged at the time of their deaths.
2nd Gen Joseph, the second, was born July 5 1766 and married Mary Scott Aug. 23 - 1791 - Daughter of Joseph and Ann Hayward Scott. They had six children namely Joseph the third

2nd Gen.
Elenor and Ann, who were twins. Hiram, William and Mary. His wife (Mary Scott) died Nov. 6 1797 and was buried in the family burying ground of Joseph Boyd the first in Prince George Co. Md. Her age was 30 yrs. Joseph Boyd the second then married for his second wife Sarah Duval of Md. and moved to Ohio and settled in Pleasant Township, Marion Co. Ohio. By his second wife he had four children - Namely Sylvester - John Wesley - George Washington and Edwin - He died Dec. 18-1846 and his wife (Sarah Duval) died Jan. 24-1847 at the age of 82 yrs. Joseph Boyd was 80 yrs of age at the time of his death. Both buried in the Idleman cemetary in Marion
Co. O.

3rd Gen. Children of Joseph Boyd (2) and Mary Scott (First marriage) Joseph (the third) oldest son was born June 2-1792 and married Arpatia Harwell Apr. 1838- She died Aug.25 1841 and was buried in the Friends Burying grounds in Baltimore. Md. He was a carpenter by trade and died ----1847 age 55 yrs. Buried beside his wife in Baltimore. Md.
3rd Gen.
Elenor and Ann (the twins) were born Dec. 3rd 1793 They were never Married. Ann died Nov. 17-1822 age 29 yrs. and was buried in the Friends Burying grounds at Sandy Springs Montgomery Co. Md. Elenor came to Marion O. and lived with Martha Boyd Peters and died May ---- 1875 and was buried in Marion Cemetary Her age was 82 yrs.

Hiram was born May 4 - 1795 married to Mitilda Harbaugh daughter of Jacob Harbaugh of Swiss decent who came from Switssland and settled in Adam Co. Penn. which was afterwards known Harbauch Valley. His wife (Matilda harbaugh) was born May 28-1810 and died at Cumberland My. ----- 1844 age 34yrs. Buried there. Hiram who was a miller by trade came to Ohio and settled at Mendon O. and died of Cholera was buried on the banks of river by Mr. Hamilton for whom he work. Their children were Mary Ann - Joseph J. - Mary Ellen - Susan Catherine - Henery L. and Martha Ann who married Harvey Peters
3rd Gen.
William was born Sept. 28-1796 and Married moved to Farmington Mo. before the Civil War. His son Hiram (2)

Came back to Ohio on a visit and died here Apr.19-1850 age 20 yrs. Buried in Idleman Cemetary, Marion

Mary was born Nov. 6-1797 and died --- 1854 age 57 yrs. Was never Married. Buried in Friend Burying grounds at Baltimore. Md.
