Chinese Virus Part 5

December 14, 2020 - Just saw a video of a doc giving testimony at a US Senate hearing saying that Ivermechtin is a miracle drug against COVID 19. "If you take it you will not get sick," he said emphatically. This guy is a member of a team of docs who are highly regarded. He said they had copies of 30 studies that have shown these results over and over.
He said that if you are sick it will significantly reduce the impact. He's simply asking the IMH to review the reports.

December 15, 202 - Biden is elected by the electoral college, and today the AMA says it's OK to use Hydroxychoriquine for the treatment of COVID-19. The have blood on thier hands in my view.

Oh yeah, almost forgot... the vaccine arrived in Ohio yesterday and the first nurse was vaccinated. It typically takes 5 years to get a vaccine approved, at best. This one was done in months. There is no question this is due to President Trump.

December 22, 2020 - Saw a very compelling video on the possible link between vitamin D deficiency and COVID-19 infection. It's more than just boosting the immune system. It shows that vitamin D (which is a hormone actually) works in direct opposition to what COVID-19 does. Not scientifically proven, but a lot of compelling evidence at this point. I've been taking 1000 mg per day for several months now.

December 28, 2020 - On our Sunday School Web conference yesterday one of our nurses expressed her frustration with people who come to church not wearing a mask, and the disappointment that they leadership doesn't do anything to enforce the wearing of masks. She said the nurses at the hospital are at their wits end and crying as they see so many patients dying. She intends to write a letter to the leadership.

Then this AM I see an article where a comparison was done of counties in Tennessee (the current "hot spot" for the virus) that require masks, verses those that don't require masks. The study was restricted to 17 eastern states to account for the spread of the virus over time, yada, yada. Reasonable effort was made to make it a fair and balanced evaluation. And you guessed it, the counties without a mask mandate had a low infection rate (4.6 as compared to 4.7) than the counties with a mask mandate. The author admits there are all kinds of variances that could be at play. But looking at two neighboring counties with very similar populations it was 5.1 compared to 4.3 mask verses non-mask. I've seen a similar study for Florida where they have a county by county mask mandate, with similar results, and done on a state level with similar results. Any reasonable person (including the author of the study) admits there can be other factors, but it certainly does raise the question of the validity of a mask mandate (and maybe even the use of masks).

So this is what we're dealing with reasonable people who have a heartfelt belief that masks are of value, and other reasonable people who feel they aren't. And I think never the two shall meet.

Also to give you a flavor of what it's like (should you be reading this years later when the virus is mostly forgotten), we went to Kingwood Center last night and walked around mostly outside. Everyone was supposed to be wearing masks (not all were). When I encountered someone not wearing a mask, I had ungracious thoughts about them. Not so much because I think masks make a big difference, but their indifference is what irks me. Also, even as we're walking around, I want to keep a large distance but people were in crowds, (families of 5-10 people) so they weren't easy to avoid. Also, going inside made me uneasy. That would be the place to catch the virus I imagine.

Later in the evening my brother-in-law came for a visit. He had a sort of mask on (more of a bandana like the bad guys on the westerns used to wear). I wondered where all he had been - does he have the virus? He seemed to have a little cough. "Does he have it?" was screaming in my mind.

December 31, 2020 - Lost of folks expressing that they are glad 2020 is over. I don't think 2020 was that bad, and I don't think 2021 is going to be better. I'm thankful that I had another year with my family and friends.

I have a friend that works for a funeral home (a large group of funeral homes). He said they've had a very busy year. Much more deaths than normal. That anecdotal information certainly questions the study done at Johns Hopkins University that showed there had not been more deaths this year than normal. Which to believe? This is the question that comes about over and over. It is the one thing that is consistent in everything we see and hear now. Which to believe? What really is true?

I know there is only one source of truth. The word of God. Outside of that, don't trust it.

January 3, 2020 - I think this wisdom from a truck driver resonated with me:
"Long Haul Paul" Marhoefer: "In the 17th century, Blaise Pascal postulated that either God is, or God is not. If a person lived as if God existed, gains would be infinite (that is, Heaven) and losses would be finite (missing out on carnal pleasure, for instance). If one believed that God is not, and lived accordingly (that is, a life of sensual pleasure, breaking the Ten Commandments), gains would be finite, but potential losses could be infinite (hellfire and damnation)."
"So even if I don't fully believe what health officials say about masks, but comply anyway, I will incur some discomfort, but I may possibly save some poor truck stop employee's life, not to mention that employee's family and coworkers." (Overdrive magazine, December 2020)

February 20, 2021 - The infection rates are plummeting all across the country. The only explanation I've seen is that we're reaching heard immunity. A month ago, the prediction was that we wouldn't reach heard immunity for maybe a year, and maybe never as the variant strains of the virus might keep it going indefinitely. But now, low and behold it seems to be going away, and there is no good explanation.

Secondly, we see that the infection and death rates in Florida and California are very similar, despite the fact that California has been perhaps the most locked down states, and Florida has almost not restrictions at all. Hmmm... so the things that we thought all along would help control the virus doesn't seem to do it at all.

If we look at the doctors' and hospitals' ability to treat virus, we have gotten a little better, but we haven't really dramatically changed the death rate. Overall the medical profession has done little to really be able to affectively treat the virus. When you get sick, you don't know where it's going to go. It is very reasonable for anyone who contracts the virus to ask themselves, if it's going to kill them, because we don't know that. We know that if you have certain medical conditions or are of a certain race, your chances are less of surviving, but we certainly don't have any confidence that if you get it, you aren't going to die. You could get a cold, or pneumonia, or even tuberculosis and have more confidence that the medical profession will be able to successfully treat it.

So the summation is, when it comes to the COVID virus, we have to say, we really know very little.

So the big conclusion we must make, is that we really don't know what we think we know about the virus.

Oh, and they say that the vaccine is very effective, at least against the initial strains of the virus (we don't know what it does for the new and evolving strains) but we don't know what the long term effects of the vaccine are because no one has had it in their bodies for more than a few months. Will have long term deleterious effects. We don't know.

What about Ivermectin? Studies show that it will effectively prevent people from getting the virus and if they get it, Ivermectin can dramatically reduce the symptoms. So why hasn't the government approved it's use for treatment and prevention? We don't know.

February 23, 2021 - I just saw this in the news:

Reuters reported that Fauci "said the pandemic arrived in the United States as the country was riven by political divisions in which wearing a mask became a political statement rather than a public health measure."

"Even under the best of circumstances, this would have a been very serious problem," Fauci told the outlet, while acknowledging that other nations like Germany and the UK were also pummeled by the virus despite greater public compliance with measures aimed at stopping its spread. "However, that does not explain how a rich and sophisticated county can have the most percentage of deaths and be the hardest-hit country in the world."

The infectious disease expert also said it was "incomprehensible" to him that some governors and mayors disregarded the coronavirus task force's recommendations for reopening last year following lockdowns in the spring.

This is quite stunning as there may be no one more responsible for the politicization of wearing masks. He's had perhaps five different positions on the wearing of masks, starting with there's no reason to wear a mask. Not only that, he completely ignores the This just shows what an amazing hypocrite he is. Not only that, but he completely ignores some of the more disastrous things that were done. For example in several states the government required nursing homes to take COVID patients when they really weren't equipped to deal with COVID patients, resulting in thousands of deaths. In New York alone it's believed (the government intentionally covered up the deaths) that the deaths amount to more than 80,000 people. That's just one state.
