Florida Vacation 2017

Thursday April 6th

We drove to Naples intending to take a tour of the bay and river on Double Sunshine. We boarded just before 10AM, and at 10AM, the captain hit the start button to get underway. The starboard engine would not start. So they cancelled the tour and said that the weather would probably prevent any other tours that day.

We walked briefly through Tin City and talked with a local store keeper there. She gave us some ideas so we set off for the Third Street district.

We wound up driving along Gulf Shore Blvd. and enjoyed looking at the houses. We parked and went out on the pier.

The parking lot signs on one side were embedded in the ivy growing on a building. This impressed me and made me think of something we might have seen in England or Ireland.

We walked around a bit in the Third Street shoping area and at lunch at the Old Naples Pub which had been recommended. It was excellent, with a nice courtyard dining area, excellent food and very reasonable prices.

We went back to the dock at 1PM, and were able to a ticket and take the tour. Here is the route the boat took:
