On Nov. 26, 1907, Mrs. Malinda Boyd in the 84 year of her age passed peacefully away at her home hear Prospect.
Malinda Smith Selanders was born in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, Nov. 10, 1818. With her parents she came to Waldo township, Marion county, Ohio when 13 years of age. In 1840 was united in marriage to Sylvester Boyd, who many years preceeded her to the home beyond. She was a charter member of the Prospect Presbyterian church where she remained a consistent member till death.
Mrs. Boyd was a woman of the highest type, bearing in her character the indedible marks of the Christian life. She was loving, faithful, hopeful and helpful as a wife and mother, and as a friend and neighbor she was greatly loved. Until prevented by ill health she was faithful in attendance at public worship and at home she always delighted to hear the scriptures read and prayer offered in her presence.
Having fought the good fight and kept the faith she has gone to recieve the promised crown. Those who knew her can not doubt the welcome she recieved in the Heavenly home. Can we not hear the words of the Savior whom she so much trusted, saying with her "Well done good and faithful servant." and "Come Ye Blessed of my Father."
